Public Service Commission Issues Findings Regarding Summit Utilities

On Friday, August 18th, the Public Service Commission issued its Order in the matter regarding Summit Utilities billing practices.
The Commission ruled that Summit had not violated any of its General Service Rules and has now fixed its prior billing errors. However, the Commission found it necessary to continue to monitor Summit Utilities for the next 24 months, and ordered Summit to file quarterly reports with the Public Service Commission for the next two years.
In the matter, the Attorney General was charged with representing Arkansas consumers and rate payers. Poynter Law Group and another law firm representing certain other consumer ratepayers acted as advisors to the Office of Attorney General.
Additionally, Summit must provide those with outstanding bills 18 months to make the necessary arrangements and payments.
